How can I buy a charger used the police?

I am interested in buying an old, used Dodge Charger V8 police. I know that these vehicles have not been on the road for long, but I know there must be some out there, for some reason are no longer used and for sale. Where I find one? Do I need to find a police auction? I know all the sensitive police equipment (electronic, lighting, etc.) are eliminated, as this would be a project car for me. Any help is appreciated!
