Apple ipod?

I have an Apple I ipod. I Havn't got no CD with it, I have only the USB. I go to my computer and theres no folder music says but if I have a folder and put my songs in it doesn't appear on the iPod. If the media player gives it shows what I am on my iPod. Please Help
