Can I connect a security camera to a DVR box from Verizon?

I see that you can purchase a DVR box to connect to the video camera. But if you already have a DVR box from Verizon, can you use that? Or is that the DVR box must be specifically for the security camera?

The DVR has to be a box that has a video input that can be recorded. Table Verizon has no such entries, but only records as digital cable / input of IPTV.
